My client, a renowned health and wellness company committed to promoting the benefits of sea moss, is looking for a dedicated and experienced Shop Assistant to join their team and help ensure smooth daily operations, excellent customer service, and a well-maintained store environment.

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in retail or customer serviceStrong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Excellent attention to detail and organisational

skills

Reliable, punctual, and flexible to work weekends when needed

Key Responsibilities:

Stock Management

Ensure shelves are consistently restocked throughout the day

Monitor stock levels and notify management when items are low (e.g., fewer than five items left with no backup stock)

Keep track of essential supplies like brown bags, packet rolls, and till slips, informing management when restocking is needed

Parcel Handling

Pack orders securely to prevent damage during transit

Double-check orders to avoid duplicate bookings before finalising shipments

Honey Section Maintenance

Regularly refill honey jars to ensure availability

Clean the honey tank and dust off display shelves for hygiene and product appeal

Cleaning & Store Maintenance

Dust shelves and stock items daily or every second day

Clean fridge racks and glass doors regularly for hygiene and visibility

Promptly restock the fridge when inventory runs low

Stock Reception & Organization

Unpack and neatly organize new stock as soon as it arrives

Maintain clear product separation to ensure order and efficiency

End-of-Day Procedures

Restock shelves before closing to prepare for the next day

Notify management of any stock shortages before leaving

Sweep and mop both front and back areas to maintain a clean environment

Cash Handling & Till Management

Ensure all cash and till slips are placed in a labelled brown bag at the end of each day

Maintain a R200 float in the till for transactions

By taking ownership of these responsibilities, you will play a key role in maintaining the store’s efficiency, customer experience, and overall success.
